Terms used across Aurus

Where a term is ours, we say so and define it precisely rather than leaving it to interpretation.

Clinical criticality scoring

Assigning an inbound clinical document an urgency tier based on its contents rather than its document type, which then determines the response SLA, routing and escalation path. A routine lab result and a critical lab value are the same document type; only reading the values inside separates them.

Response SLA

The maximum time a team has to act on an inbound document, set by its criticality tier, tracked from intake and escalated automatically on breach. The clock starts when the document arrives, not when someone opens it.

Document disposition

The closure of an inbound item once the required action has been taken and recorded. Distinct from delivery: a document routed to a chart has been delivered, not dispositioned.

AI fax triage

Automatically reading inbound faxes, determining what each document is and which patient it belongs to, and routing it without manual sorting. Triage differs from classification in that it also determines urgency and response obligation.

Contract package reconciliation

Checking a master agreement against all of its related documents — SOWs, amendments, exhibits, side letters and prior versions — to find terms that conflict, obligations that were superseded, and provisions present in one document but absent from another. Distinct from contract review, which examines a single document alone.

Clause deviation detection

Identifying where language in an executed agreement departs from a standard template or playbook, and — across a package — where two documents governing the same relationship state the same clause differently.

Obligation extraction

Pulling every commitment, deadline, notice period, approval requirement and renewal term out of a contract package and reconciling them against each other, so the register reflects what is currently in force rather than what was true at signature.

Exception resolution

Treating a discrepancy as a work item rather than a report line: naming it, attaching its evidence, assigning an owner and a next step, and tracking it until closed.

Intelligent document processing

The category of software that converts unstructured documents into structured data. Extraction is its mature core; reconciliation, urgency scoring and disposition are where products now differentiate.

Business Associate Agreement (BAA)

The contract required under HIPAA between a covered entity and any vendor handling protected health information on its behalf. A vendor unwilling to sign one cannot lawfully process your PHI.
